This large, wooden sculpture of a heart pulsates according to your heartbeat when you place your hand at the center of it, providing audio-visual feedback of your own inner rhythm.
I created the Heart of the Shaman during an Artist Residency at Idea Fab Labs in California, with the help of an incredible team: Héctor Cosío, Scott Franzyshen, Sam Reinthaler and Collin Dever.
The installation was built using various tools, such as CNC routers, laser cutters, sensors, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi and made mainly of wood, acrylic and LEDs .
The result was first shown as part of exhibition with Marina Kushnir titled “Urban Shamanism”, where it was given its own dark and quiet room to offer visitors an immersive experience.
